Ta'ir Rape Crisis Center

Ta'ir Rape Crisis Center was established in 1998 to provide guidance and support for survivors of rape and sexual assault in the area south and south-east of Tel Aviv. The organization was established due to the lack of services available to survivors in the area, and lack of experience and understanding of the public welfare and health services of the implications of sexual assault for the survivor and her/his family.

Ta'ir strives to raise awareness to sexual violence, reduce its rates, and alleviate its harsh consequences for the survivor and her/his close environment. It provides immediate assistance and long-term guidance for survivors of sexual assault - nonjudgmental and anonymous. It further conducts educational workshops and holds lectures and seminars for a range of target audiences: youth, educators, counselors, parents, social workers, police, lawyers, doctors, nurses, and more.  

Tel Aviv Sexual Assault Crisis Center

The Tel Aviv Sexual Assault Crisis Center, founded in 1978, is an  independent, fully accredited, non-profit organization, supported by public and private donations and grants.

The Center was the first such entity in Israel and remains the largest in its field, providing a wide array of crisis intervention services, including hotlines on a 24/7 basis, as well as a broad series of public awareness and educational outreach and other related programs to more than 1.2 million women and men in the area it serves.

The Center’s devoted team handled more than 11,000 calls in 2015.

The Center remains the only such organization in Israel, and one of the few in the world, assisting both male and female victims of sexual assault, with specially designed assistance and programs for victims from diverse religious, ultra-religious and different language, cultural and national origin groups.
